Upcoming Events

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the CLAA Los Angeles chapter has decided to postpone in-person events for the time being.

However, We hope to see you at our virtual events.

We look forward to resuming in-person activities after it is safer to do so.

Thank you for your understanding and go bears!

Call for Collaboration

A lot of our recent events have been led by Cal Alumni just like you. We are looking for fun and innovative ways to join forces with your organization.

Email us and let’s make change happen. We want to plan personal/professional development presentations, showcase our talents, promote intellectual diversity, explain how the world works. We all want to learn. Let’s show our community that Berkeley alumni exist across all walks of professional life.

Summer Welcome Party – Somos Berkeley
Hosted with CLAA-San Diego

Saturday, July 11, 2020 and Sunday July 12, 2020 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM PST

RSVP here

Our newly admitted Cal Osxs deserve to be celebrated! While we aren’t able to host our traditional BBQ park get-together, we are uniting with our friends at CLAA-SD to welcome all new SoCal Berkeley families to a series of current student/parent testimonials, advice, conversation and community building. There might even be prizes for a few lucky participants!

Cafecito con CLAA-LA
Working Abroad

Thursday, July 30th, 2020 | 6:30-7:30pm PST

We continue our Cafecito tradition with a conversation hosted by CLAA’s Diego Jácome, as he and a couple of his colleagues at Walt Disney Imagineering lead a conversation on what it means to work abroad. It is a charla by engineers for anyone (including non-engineers) who has ever considered taking their professional talents outside of our EEUU.

They hope to share their stories on what worked, what didn’t and most importantly, how they were able to cope with being so far away from home once again. In deed, being a true professional sometimes means that you can’t depend on your English or even your favorite taco stand to get through the day.

Diego Jácome ‘06, José Cuevas ‘97 and Chuy Prieto ‘05 are civil engineers who share a passion for arguing about soccer and Spanish pronunciations, but agree that empowering Latinx representation in the upper echelons of this country is absolutely within each of us.
