Host a Virtual Event
Share your skills, talents, and experiences with the CLAA community by hosting a webinar or virtual event. Events can be formal or informal and CLAA LA can help with logistics and marketing. Email a short bio and a brief description of the event to berkeleyclaa.la@gmail.com.
Committees & Ambassadors
Our chapter is excited to announce the option to become involved as a member of our Internal and/or External Affairs Committees, or as a Chapter Ambassador. If you missed our informational, feel free to watch the recording to get further details on the opportunities listed below, and fill out interest form if you want to join the team.
Chapter Committees (Estimated Time Commitment: 8 hours/month)
Following Chapter Officers lead, committee members will help plan and execute chapter events. The responsibilities include: Partaking in committee communications (Email, Phone/Virtual Calls), and providing planning and day-of-event support.

Chapter Ambassadors (Estimated Time Commitment: 5 hours/month)
Following Chapter Officers’ and Committees’ Lead, Chapter Ambassadors will help represent our organization, promote and/or be active participants in our events. The responsibilities include: Reposting our events on personal social media/professional platforms, and supporting events (i.e. engage guests, event stand-in).
Volunteer/Fundraise/Speaker
Volunteer: We host and support events throughout the year. We may need help with setting up and breaking down, and connecting with attendees. One annual event is the Summer Welcome Party for newly admitted students and their families. We also host alumni events such as tailgates, workshops and networking events.
Fundraising: We are a non-profit organization that helps provide scholarships to current Cal students. If you are able to help us raise funds or contribute in-kind toward fundraising efforts please let us know.
Cafecito Speaker: Cafecitos are discussions with our alumni/friends to inform or discuss relevant topics to our alumni community. Some previous Cafecitos have been about finances, tech industry panel, and a discussion about voting resources. We would love to hear about your areas of interest and expertise and work with you on hosting a virtual or in-person Cafecito.
Board of Directors
The Board works together to host events such as alumni networking events, fundraisers for scholarships, host Cafecitos participate in Monthly meetings. Each role has its respective duties:
Co-Chairs: Oversee chapter development and financial health, manage chapter officers, and serve as liaison to UC Berkeley, UC Berkeley CLAA and CAA, and any subsets to either.
Secretary: Maintain chapter records and archives, including internal operations calendar, and meeting minutes.
Treasurer: Keep and maintain adequate and correct books and records of accounts of the properties and business transactions of the Chapter, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, reimbursements, gains, losses, capital, and other matters customarily included in financial statements.
Events Specialist: Facilitate programming ideas to attract new members, retain current members, and promote Chapter objectives.
External Affairs Specialist: Updates and maintains Chapter social media and flyers.
Board Apprentice: Assist Board members with various duties and responsibilities with the aim for them to grow into another long-term Board member position.
